January 19, 20206 yr Help needed. I recently added a new disk to my server. I am using a hardware RAID array. so far no issues. as soon as i boot in to unraid. the disk was not mounting. I ran fdisk -l I got "The backup GPT table is not on the end of the device. This problem will be corrected by write." i follow some instructions to use "gdisk" in combination with "e" option on the experts menu. this corrected the previous error. now i have a new problem as soon as i ran fdisk -l the new error is "Partition 1 does not start on physical sector boundary." I understand that this is a partition alignment issue however i am unsure how to fix it. I am also concerned that i probably lost all data during the gdisk step. any help will be greatly appreciated tower-diagnostics-20200119-1107.zip Edited January 19, 20206 yr by Alan747 new file

If the disk wasn't mounting you should have posted diags, can't help mess with partitions, if the disk isn't disabled you can try to fix the emulated disk and then rebuild on top, rebuilding will correctly re-create the partition .
January 20, 20206 yr You're not using parity, so no option to emulate that disk, also using a raid volume as an array device is not recommended, this is one of the reasons, raid controllers can mess with partition layout, Unraid requires a specific layout, sorry but can't help with this.
March 26, 20206 yr Author I forgot to publish how i resolve the issue. It was very simple to fix. I use Gparted Live CD. here is the link https://gparted.org/livecd.php If you encounter a similar issue you can contact me for support.
