January 21, 20206 yr Hi, Having problems with my Unraid system, it seems that the SMTP Notifications are completely ruined on my Unraid OS ? Been using Unraid for over 5 years and this is the first time SMTP is giving me problems. I have created a new Gmail account, allowed full access using allow less secure apps... even tried the App password for gmail to try and auth. Nothing..... Checking the log files within OS i get after hitting test i receive: Jan 21 22:01:37 NYX ool www[23533]: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/notify 'smtp-init' Jan 21 22:01:46 NYX ool www[24606]: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/notify 'smtp-init' Jan 21 22:01:55 NYX ool www[23533]: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/notify 'smtp-init' Jan 21 22:02:11 NYX ool www[23533]: /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/scripts/notify 'smtp-init' Here is my Screen shot of the SMTP Form: Checked email system including spam, tried incorporating other recipients and testing different other servers (example - Live/outlook) Nothing! - The plan was to install Bitwarden following spaceinvaders tutorial but because the smtp on Unraid is acting up, i am also having issues with Bitwarden sending out invites using the smtp - i assumed it was some sort of dynamix plugin so i deleted these, however still the same. Seems to be some sort of internal smtp settings that are causing these problems for Unraid and bitwarden but how do i diagnose this? Cant seem to find the reset button for the OS I have looked through every SMTP related thread on the forum and cant find anything relating apart from this thread.... Diagnostics attachednyx-diagnostics-20200121-2242.zip Thanks Edited January 21, 20206 yr by Joeyleigh solved*
January 21, 20206 yr Community Expert You don't have an E-mail recipient listed in the SMTP Settings.
January 21, 20206 yr Community Expert One more thing. Don't send mail to yourself-- Same recipient as sender. It could get tagged as Spam.
January 21, 20206 yr Author ahhhhhhh........ so sorry for wasting your time, i feel like a right crayon! Thanks
January 21, 20206 yr Community Expert What is surprising is that it was failing quietly in the syslog listing. I would think that sSMTP should provide an error message when there is no recipient for an e-mail...
January 21, 20206 yr Author I was just thinking this, some sort of message - "you missed out the recipient" Instead of being blank or failed (Fail usually gives bad credentials within sys log) would be good if that was projected into the GUI Thanks again Frank 👍
