Can't copy files to unRAID SMB shares from Mac OS 10.6.5

Featured Replies

Hello all!

I am new to unRAID, currently in the middle of a new build and data migration off of WHS.  I love the flexibility and power of unRAID, as long as I can get past one significant obstacle...

I have been unable to copy files from my Mac to a SMB share on my unRAID server.  I get the "operation can't be completed because you don't have permission to access some of the items" error code -36 on my Mac.  I am connected to the share using "root" (just for testing).

I have tried adding "unix extensions = no" to my smb.conf file with no luck.

I have searched high and low for any other options and have not come across anything.

Any assistance is greatly appreciated.

thanks

Corey

That error is saying the file you are copying is having permission issues, it really doesn't have anything to do with unraid.

Where are the files that you are copying? That is where your permissions are having trouble.

Since my SMB share is connected using the "root" user, I don't know how it could be a permission issue.

Plus, I am able to create folders on the shares, or even blank files.  Just can't copy anything over from my Mac.

The issue occurs when there is a corrupt Reiserfs

check your syslog

solution is written in the FAQ's:  its under read only file system error
