Background:

I've had my unRAID server running since 2008. I'm pretty cutting edge with an ABIT AB9 motherboard and a Core 2 Duo CPU. 😀 I think that I've only updated the software once from v4.3.3 to v6.1.9 and added disks as necessary. I've had 2 disk failures along the way and UnRAID recovered the data flawlessly. I've only ever used my server as data storage. I'd like to change that and start using more of the features that didn't exist when I first started using unRAID.

Question:

I need Motherboard/CPU recommendations since I've been out of the game for a while.

I plan to run Blue Iris w/ eight 4MP cameras. I'd like to also run OpenALPR on the server. https://www.openalpr.com/   https://devhub.io/repos/openalpr-openalpr

I'd also like to run Plex and Kodi.

I am currently running 12 drives. That number probably won't grow too much.

Thank you.
