Remote login from iOS

Hello.  I recently setup my server and have successfully setup Open VPN.  I am able to connect with my phone, but am unable to login with the user account for myself, only the root account.  It is telling me incorrect user info, but I know for a fact it is correct.  Is that the only way to login remotely using root?  Thank you

Not quite sure what you are asking?   The root user is the only one who can access the GUI.   Other user accounts are only for share access.
