Building QEMU from source

Recommended Posts

I would like to build QEMU from source so that I might include the ability to run VMs on emulated Architectures (PPC, ARM, etc.)

I have tried everything that I know about linux and learned so much about Slackware in the process.  However I just cannot figure it out.  I continue to have problems compiling Qemu and using it from the command-line not to mention that I still haven't even been able to try building a VM from XML.  I just don't know enough about configuring and compiling binaries in any system much less Slackware.

This is a hobby project honestly, I want to create a VM that emulates a late '99 Power Mac that I can install some of my older games on and play for funzies.  I would also like to learn more about installing/compiling/configuring binaries on UNRAID in the process if possible.

If anyone would be willing to devote some time to show/teach me how to make this project closer to reality I would be very appreciative.
