Top of the morning, day, afternoon or evening to all.

My name is John and I am very new to unRaid, my current nas is a qnap  419P+ that is over ten years old. Since I can not upgrade it and qnap has taken away almost all of the apps for it, I have decided to build me a new one using my wife's old office computer that I build for her. I am looking forward to trying out unRaid and having some fun with it. The main usage of it is for media, pictures and my work files.

If I happen to be on the wrong path please speak up.

Welcome!

Your config is an overkill just as a NAS so I'm sure you will be itching to do more stuff with it soon.

Also, don't overclock your RAM (i.e. don't run it at 3200MHz). Run it at stock speed will save you lots of unexpected gripes.

testdasi, thanks for the welcome and yes its over kill, but I don't want this computer laying around doing nothing. Plus I have taken out the video card and the 1tb ssd, oh the ram is not overclock at all.

I am looking forward to using unRaid.
