January 30, 20206 yr Hi there I'm planning a new rig for running unRAID. I'm not sure yet how I should realise it. I really could use some help. I plan to use at least the following VMs: Arch Linux as my main workstation OPNsense as 24/7 firewall Windows 10 for office and Adobe acrobat Some not yet decided Linux or openbsd distros or things alike to try out or docker images Windows will only be used for the programs that don't run under Linux. Linux will be my main workstation. 2 screens will be attached. In addition I'd like to be able to attach a TV and use kodi. But I don't mind if I let kodi run as an application under Linux or as an own instance as librelec or openelec or docker. I just need to be able to passthrough HD audio (true-hd / atmos)! This is gonna be a silent build. So the GPU has to be semi-passive (fans run only above a certain temp). Can you recommend how I should realise this? Should I pass-through a GPU to my main Linux and run kodi from it? Which silent CPU supports 3 screens? Or should I do something else? Thank you very much in advance!
