Port forwarding done correct - Plex still not working

Featured Replies

Hi forum,

I have setup my Unraid server but I can't reach Plex docker and Moonlight Streaming (via a Windows 10 VM) from outside the internal network. I've put in the correct ports for port forwarding inside my network controller (Unifi), but still can't reach either Plex or Moonlight Streaming from an external network. I have a public IP and I've checked with my ISP and I am not behind a CGN. What am I doing wrong? My internal IP for Unraid is 192.168.1.26, my internal IP for Windows 10 VM (with the Moonlight Streaming) is 192.168.1.207. Attaching two picture of my setup. 1) The network settings in Unraid and 2) the port forwarding settings inside my network controler (Unifi)

P.S The ports that are forwarded are the correct ones according to Plex and Moonlight.

The Plex port forward rule doesn't look right.  It should be:

From:   anywhere

Port:     32400

Forward IP:  192.168.1.26

Forward Port: 32400

Protocol: Both

Changed it and removed the other one regarding Plex. Still no success. Plex has given me the info that it is 'Fully accessible outside your network' from the start (even before I made the change you just suggested) but it is still not fully reachable. Plex relay is working at a maximum at 2 Mbit/s and has worked from the beginning. I've checked my mobile devices and none of them are supposed to throttle or limit the stream because of cellular data.

Cant be of any help for the Moonlight Streaming, but your issue with plex sounds confusing.

So, to make sure I understand you correctly.

You can reach your server via app.plex.tv (Plex Relay) but are limited to 2 mBit/s Streaming (Souds like a set limitation to 720p - which is the stanard for the web app I think)

But if you try to connect via https://YourIP:32400 you do not get access.

Correct?

Your Plex Docker runs in host mode on the same IP that your UnRAID server is running?

Your public facing IP is IPv4?
