[SOLVED] Issues installing new drive

Featured Replies

Good Afternoon, I am having issues installing a 10TB into my UNRAID running a core2quad on a ga-ep45-ud3r motherboard. I've been Googling all day and I cannot tell if my motherboard doesn't support 10TB or not. UNRAID simply doesn't see it at all. It acts like nothing is installed. Has anyone else had this issue?

Does it show up in the BIOS?

Some newer disks have a PWDIS feature that won't power up if 3.3v is supplied, google "wd 3.3v sata pin"

If it's a WD white label then it's defo the 3.3v power problem. Needs a bit of thin tape to cover pin3 on power connector. I have three of these schucked drives running in my array currently.

If you are not sure what to do, Byte My Bits youtube channel has a tutorial on how to cover the right 3.3v pin.

This did the trick. Took me all day Google searching the symptoms and I didn't find anything. I ask you the question and you answered it in a matter of seconds.

Thank you yes I used his tutorials. I've been a fan of his for quite awhile. He has a lot of helpful tips.
