johnny121b
1: How long should it take for an average system to rebuild a 2Tb disk? I was expecting something along the lines of 8 hours, but mine took over 48... 2: What would happen if I'd had a power failure during that time? (UPS wouldn't last forever during a Winter storm) 3: What would happen if I'd STOPPED the process thru the web console? (i.e. Can I do a 'clean' shutdown w/o sabotaging the rebuild) Thanks! (UPS wouldn't last forever during a Winter storm) You would start again once power is restored. Unfortunately it would start over from the beginning of the process. There is no way for it to take over where it left off 3: What would happen if I'd STOPPED the process thru the web console? (i.e. Can I do a 'clean' shutdown w/o sabotaging the rebuild) Thanks! If you stop the rebuild it will be as if you never started it. There is some danger here in that you must NOT force the array to think the drive is good, since it might only have a tiny bit re-constructed. If you just stop the array and power down you can begin the re-construction again (from the beginning) when you next power up. Link to comment
