Hot Swap any drive, without bringing down the array!

Featured Replies

A feature I would love, as I am currently in the process of replacing all my 750GB drives with 2TB Drives, would be the option to do hotswap. If no hot swap option, what about an option to migrate off a disk and onto another disk, without having to do a manual move command from the telnet prompt. I only have 17 drives right now, so if I could add 2-3 more drives, and say migrate these in the background without affecting playing movie watching, then remove the three old drives when done and repeat the process, that would be great.

Others, I think you already have:

A secure Dropbox like option for unraid.

SSH, SFTP, VPN, and Linux MCE/Myth TV backend all in one!

I agree this feature would be awesome but.. I think all you'd have to do is shut down the machine.. remove the drive.. and replace it.. and when you turn it back on unRAID should rebuild that drive.

and when you turn it back on unRAID should rebuild that drive.

I would want no part of unRAID rebuilding a drive automatically once I restarted the computer.

For 99% of the time this would probably work, but that 1% of the time where I want to manually control stuff this would completely screw it up.

Agreeded on the automated part, but I still want hot swap.
