Not able to boot into unRAID

Featured Replies

When trying to boot into UNRAID for the first time. I am getting an error that says:

/dev/disk/by-label/UNRAID not found

Perhaps the USB flash boot device label is not set to UNRAID.

I have checked and the USB is called UNRAID

I have made the flash drive both FAT32 and NTFS.

What else can I do?

That error message suggest Unraid cannot find thebUSB stick during the later stages of the boot process.

NTFS will not work!

How did you create the drive?    If you manually formatted it what size is the drive (Windows/MacOS do not format drives larger than 32Gb to FAT32).

The  drive must be labelled as UNRAID (all capitals).

What make/model of USB drive are you using?   if possible use a USB2 port as some motherboards seem to have trouble handling USB 3 correctly during the booting sequence.

That fixed it. I switched to a USB2.0 and it booted right up.

2 days and about 52 tries later.

Thank you!!
