So I have several shares and I would like to group several drives for holding each share. The data is already on the server.  If I now start excluding drives, will the data get moved to the correct drives? or will it only start copying the new data there?

Data will never be moved by reorganizing your shares. You'd need to move files around manually.

so how would i pick the drives I want the data on??  I vaguely remember exporting a list of the actual disks.  how do i do it?

got it...so I would copy movies to disk1 and disk2.  I would copy data to disk3 and disk4.  Then I would put include disk1 and disk2 and exclude disk3 and disk4 for movies and vice versa for data?  And manually copy the data where it needs to go.
