December 10, 201015 yr Hello, today my first ever unRAID system will be coming online. I've gone through preclear, parity rebuild and parity check. I have (4) 2TB EARS data drives, (1) 2TB EARS parity drive and (1) 1TB black Cache drive. I've printed the unRAID manuals and reading the forums but still a little confused on creating and configuring Shares for my situation. This is what I plan on doing with my unRAID server; Back-up for my programs (about 80GB), Back-up for my photos and video (about 100GB), and the rest for ripping BluRay and DVD to stream to maybe a Dune, or NEO TV-550. If someone can lend a helping hand with a Shares configuration I would apreciate it! Also, I noticed in Windows Explorer I see all 4 disks and my Cache disk. Do I only copy to the Cache disk? or look for Shares once I create them? Thanks, Tom

How about someone letting me know what your shares and settings are, and I'll make mine the same? Thanks, Tom
December 10, 201015 yr Every top level folder you create on the disks will automatically become a "user-share" if you enable user-shares. You will never need to copy directly to the cache drive. If you configure a user-share to use the cache drive it becomes transparent to you when using the user-share. Joe L.
