unRAID locks user rights after directory scan with Dune Explorer?

Featured Replies

Hi all,

I'm a complete newbie with unRAID, but i just managed finishing building my first server (Ever. I've never even build a computer)

Everything is working just fine.

Exept for one thing:

I use a program called "Dune Explorer", which i use to scan my user share "Movies".

The program can create icons and filminfo that shows up when i use my Dune mediaplayer to watch movies.

But when the scan is done, the program can not write the info to the folder.

It says: "Acces to path x:\.....SynopsisText.xml is denied"

After closing Dune Explorer i can't change anything in the "Movies" user share with internet explorer. (not even create a new directory)

My computer tells me i don't have rights to edit the directory.

When i reboot unRAID, i have rights again to edit a directory with internet explorer (until i use Dune Explorer again ofcourse).

Is this a problem with my server? Or can i never use Dune Explorer again?

Yep we sure do.

Rebooting UnRaid does clear it up, as you say.

It definitely seems to be the UnRaid side which is objecting to the scan. I ran a DE scan on a share on older ReadyNAS box that I have as a spare, and movie folders and files on that can be read, modified and written by DE without any problem.

Perhaps one of the gurus could give us some pointers on how to proceed from here.

I seem to have a very similar problem as well... but its when I use a program like Iflicks or Itunes.. I can copy and paste files into the folders, but If I were to import the files using itunes, I'm denied.. given a warning stating I dont have rights to the file system.  At the end the system hangs...

I thought it had something to do with user rights, and so I added a new user and tried again with this user...same situation.

Thought it could be due to my split level and having low disk space...so I changed the split level from 0 to 3.

I also upgraded to 4.5.6 of unraid.  I am still having the same issues and am getting very frustrated with this issue.
