k2exoman
Single 1TB SSD (SanDisk) Cache Drive, passes S.M.A.R.T. test. SuperMicro X9SCM-F Mobo, 2x 6GB SATA, 4x 3GB SATA built-in I added a new LSI SAS9201-8i controller yesterday to give all drives 6GB channels. Array started up and was running great Noticed docker issues this morning, app reported unreachable DB... I rebooted the server and now unmountable cache drive. I'm almost positive cache was set to XFS but now it says BTRFS? How can I verify? While it's set to BTRFS the WebGUI option to run 'Check Filesystem Status' is greyed out while the array is running. I tried setting filesystem to auto and rebooting, but still unmountable and no option to check the filesystem. File system status reports "Unmountable: Unsupported partition layout" I shutdown and moved the SSD back to a 6GB mobo port and replaced the cable, still have the same issue. I tried to temporarily mount the SSD to copy app data off, but the SSD is showing up as /dev/sdi, there's no /dev/sdi1 in the device tree so it was unable to be mounted at all. I'll defer to the knowledge here for any more ideas. tower-diagnostics-20200216-0843.zip Edited February 17, 2020 by k2exoman Quote Link to comment

JorgeB
This isn't a filesystem problem: Feb 16 07:39:26 Tower emhttpd: /mnt/cache mount error: Unsupported partition layout Unassign the cache device and see if it mount with the UD plugin. Quote Link to comment
k2exoman
It appears that UD is unable to mount it... Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Device doesn't have a partition, it was wiped (or failed). Quote Link to comment
k2exoman
How would something like that happen, seemingly overnight and without any other intervention? The drive itself is ~3 months old. Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Can't tell you what happened, on the diags posted it was already like that at boot time so can't see if something wiped it, and if it failed it doesn't really matter how many moths it has, any device can fail at any time. k2exoman
Ok, I'll see if it seems ok if I reformat it... and I'll order a replacement. Thank you for taking your time to respond. Despite this issue, Unraid is a very cool, unique solution. Is there some sort of appdata auto-backup plug-in? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
Look for CA Appdata Backup Quote Link to comment
