Network Adapter disappears on FreeNAS VM

Hi all,

I've been using UnRAID as my main server at home for a few months.

On my server I have configured a VMware Test Lab (couple of ESXi hosts & vCenter), which I've been using Openfiler as an iSCSi target with some vdisks to create Datastores for VMware....its all been working perfectly fine.

I decided I wasn't really happy with Openfiler and decided to switch to FreeNAS for creating my LUN's.

I did some testing with 2 vdisks on FreeNAS, and created my Datastores perfectly fine, so decided to switch to FreeNAS.

When I added multiple more vdisks, when I boot the FreeNAS VM it doesnt initialize the network adapter, even though I cant see any bus/slot conflict, and its set as VMXNET3 which was working prior.  Removing the vdisks, changing the interface type just cannot get the network adapter to load again.

I ended up deleting the VM and re-creating it with just attaching vdisk1 again and setting the adapter to VMXNET3, and it worked perfectly fine.

Added my 5 other vdisks, and again the network disappears. Tried with interface type SCSI & SATA on the disks.

Anyone know whats going on?

If I look at the VM log I can see the VMXNET3 adapter, but it doesnt appear in the VM
