What are LST_XXX.dat Files?

Featured Replies

I have noticed several of my shares had an "LST_XXX.dat" file in them.  I have never seen these files before and was curios / concerned with what they are. They range in size from just under 1MB to over 65MB, some shares have multiple and some have none at all.  When opened in notepad the contents are just a string of gibberish.

Are these files created by Unraid? Are they an artifact of migrating data only the shares?

Thank you in advance for any information, I am fairly new to unraid.

Are you sure you didn't copy these files to Unraid from some other system? My guess is they are the result of filesystem repair but I don't remember seeing these particular examples from a repair on Unraid.

They do not appear on any of my other systems.  I have had data migrations error out however; some of the shares have several hundred thousand files of less than 1K each.  Moving it all at once was a little bit unstable.  Could these files be remnants of a failed transfer with Krusader?

Can you open one of them in a text editor or something?

Maybe to a text editor that is what it is. Might mean something else to another application.

In any case they don't have anything to do with Unraid.

I have deleted them off my system without any ill effects.

Thank you for you help.
