Seagate IronWolf 8TB HDDs failing (Brand New)

Featured Replies

I've just finished building a new unraid server with three brand new 8TB Seagate Ironwolf HDDs and two old 2TB HDD.  I built the server and array fine, but after a power cycle, one of the new drives just dissapeared, didn't appear in the OS or in BIOS.  I assumed I was just unlucky and it was a failed drive, so I started the RMA procedure.

Last night, we had a power outage for a minute and when the server came back online, another 8TB Seagate has vanished exactly like before.  Surely I can't be so unlucky to have two bad drives, can I?  Is there something I am doing wrong here?  I've attached my diagnostics in case anyone feels like taking a look.

Are the drive(s) recognized by the BIOS?  If they don't show there, then zero chance unRaid can see them.  Check all the cabling.

Most likely bad connections. Check all connections, both ends, power and SATA, including any power splitters
