So I'm just trying to see my options ATM but I'm no pro in networking or more so where to look. Just looking for 4-8 port total, to work with CAT6/CAT6a cable. Anyone has quick recommendation of stuff to get? Not looking for NIC ATM just switch/router but I'll add those to my wish list if provided. Thx

I have 2 different mikrotik switches and they run without issue in switch mode. I've never had the need to try them as a router, so I can't speak to that user experience, though I have dug through menus and it appears fairly comprehensive.

1) Mikrotik CRS305-1G-4S, 100$ to 130$ on amazon, 4Port 10GbE SFP+, but if you already using copper, you'll have to pay on top 40-50$ per port for SFP+ to copper adapters

2) Mikrotik CSS326-24G-2S+RM, 144$,  24 port Gigabit Ethernet switch with two SFP+ 10GbE ports

https://www.amazon.com/Mikrotik-CSS326-24G-2S-RM-Gigabit-Ethernet/dp/B0723DT6MN

3) 160$ QNAP QSW-308-1C that has x8 1G ports, x2 10GbE ports + 1 Combo 10GbE port:  SFP + or copper [you use either one, not both]

https://www.amazon.com/QNAP-QSW-308-1C-Switch-Gigabit-Unmanaged/dp/B07VC9T3WQ

4) NetGear GS110MX, 169$ Switch, x8 1GbE + x2 10GbE

https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Ethernet-Unmanaged-Multi-Gig-Protection/dp/B076642YPN

5) Netgear MS510TX switch, it retails on amazon for 259$, every couple of weeks goes to 209$ for a period and then back.

https://www.amazon.com/NETGEAR-Multi-Gigabit-Ethernet-lifetime-technical/dp/B075Q6NPM2

x1 SFP+ 10GbE port [You can use 40$ adapter to change from SFP+ to copper if needed]

x1 10GbE Port

x2 5GbE ports

x2 2.5GbE ports

x4 1GbE ports

For me, this is the best option for my use.

6) Mikrotik CRS309-1G-8S+IN, 8-Port 10GbE SFP+, x1 1GbE, 264$ [but was at lowest 156$]

https://www.amazon.com/MikroTik-Desktop-Gigabit-Ethernet-CRS309-1G-8S/dp/B07NFXN4SS

7) 499$, MikroTik CRS354-48G-4S+2Q+RM switch, x48 1Gb copper, x4 10Gb SFP+, x2 40Gb QSFP+ [New product, no amazon link]

8] TRENDnet EdgeSmart Switch 8-Port 10GbE, 517$

https://www.amazon.com/TRENDnet-EdgeSmart-10GBASE-T-Protection-TEG-7080ES/dp/B07BV2VYVF

9) QNAP QSW-1208-8C-US, 12-Port 10GbE Switch, 550$ [price falls down as low as 399$ periodically] x12 SFP+ ports + x8 Copper Ports [8 ports are shared among SFP+ and copper, if you use one 10GbE copper port, you cant use one SFP+ port, so this is great solution to cover both standards for acceptable price]

https://www.amazon.com/QNAP-QSW-1208-8C-US-12-Port-Unmanaged-10GBASE-T/dp/B07CDJ9YGM
