r1sk
Hi, I've got 11 drives in my array. parity 10TB 6 - 4TB 3 - 3TB 1 - 10TB is there a way for me to replace 3 - 3TB drives to 10TB drive? in total to have 9 drives? Quote Link to comment
Gragorg
You can shrink your array. https://wiki.unraid.net/Shrink_array Unbalance plugin is helpful to move the data off the 3TB drives to the 10TB drives. Then you can clear the drives and remove them as per the instructions. Quote Link to comment
JonathanM
Do a normal remove replace on one of the 3TB drives and the new 10TB, copy the data from the other 2 3TB to the free space on the drive you just rebuilt using whatever method is easiest for you, then remove the other 2 3TB using the shrink array procedure. Beware, the script referenced in step 8 of the clear and remove section doesn't work currently, so the only way to use that procedure is the manual clear, which is rather risky if you don't know what you are doing, you could easily permanently delete data you didn't mean to. Much safer to use the rebuild parity with the new config method. Quote Link to comment
