Windows 10 - Forgot Password

Featured Replies

Hi all

anyone know of a good CD that can be used to boot from to wipe out passwords on a Windows 10 workstation? Have a friend who has forgotten her password and I would like to try and reset it before re imaging the PC.

Thank you

If using a MS account to login, you reset the password on the MS account online. If you are talking about a local account, use any boot CD that allows writing to NTFS and implement the sethc escalation attack.

Offline NT Password & Registry Editor should work with your situation. It's a bootable CD based on Linux.

A Windows 10 install disk can also help you unlock the system, but it involves executing some commands at Command Prompt.

If you've set up security questions to your account or made a password reset disk, just click on the "Reset password" option at the Windows login screen and you're good to go.

To recover the forgotten password on Windows 10,using NT password or password reset disk are both good methods.

Before using it, you need to master some computer operation skills, otherwise it will be difficult to do.

The following method is also good, what is more worth sharing is that it can complete all steps without any computer operation experience.
