Dear Unraid members,

I have an UPnP issue I hope someone can help me with, I am running latest Unraid server v.6.8.2 on wired ethernet connection.

I have a network streamer amplifier called Naim Uniti Atom (https://www.naimaudio.com/product/uniti-atom) that has UPnP server/client running on it, and I want to be able to stream/play music from my Unraid server to the amplifier. Unfortunately this is not working as the network streamer cannot locate any of my files/directories/plex on my Unraid server. For some reason my (2nd) plex server running on Nvidia Shield is discoverable on the network amplifier tho. I am wondering if it has something to do with the UPnP software running on Unraid that might cause some issues here. I have enabled UPnP on the Unraid server settings, also enabled UPnP on my network router. I have been in contact with the manufactorer of the network amplifier and they told me that http://www.dbpoweramp.com/asset-upnp-dlna.htm or https://minimserver.com/userguide.html software would work to setup UPnP on my server and would make it possible to stream/play the music on my Unraid server. Do I need to find some other UPnP software to run on my Unraid box instead of the integrated UPnP software? Can anyone shed any light on my problem?

I have a very similar problem in that I have a Naim NDX music streamer which requires any servers to be UPnP.

 

I am very wary of UPnP due to the security issues but would like some advice on if there is a safe and high quality way of serving music to the Naim streamer using either plex or another plugin (such as Asset UPnP?).

 

Could I bump this up for consideration by our expert senior members, please?

I recently managed to serve music from my Unraid server to my Uniti Atom amplifier, it did not work with plex, asset upnp or minimserver dockers, but I finally tried Jellyfin docker container, and set the network settings to host on the container setup. Now I can finally see my music files via the Naim app. This is also UPnP so not the safest way I agree.

Please go a head and bump to senior members.

I am new to unRAID, and using a Naim streamer too for years.  I currently run Asset uPnP (for pop) & Minimserver (for classical) on a Windows Server and planning to move to the new unRAID server I am building. Please can you let me know what did you end up using? and is Jellyfin still the best option?
