100% CPU usage on one core for 'smbd command' - any ideas?

Featured Replies

Hello

First server build seems ok, been up for just over 4 days without issue. However, i noticed just now that one of my CPU cores is 100% usage...i found this on the top.txt log:

PID USER      PR  NI    VIRT    RES    SHR S  %CPU  %MEM     TIME+ COMMAND
32056 root      20   0   52652  15360  12220 R 100.0   0.2   5855:07 smbd

I have my shares mapped in Windows 10 while i copy files over to them from my other NAS...i'm a total noob but is smbd something to with this? Any ideas why it's 100% on just the one core? Even when i disconnect the shares in WIn 10 it stays the same.

I have a Plex docker and Win 7 VM - both stopped at the moment.

EDIT - reboot of server fixed issue.. but any ideas on why it happened?
