ombraweb Posted December 15, 2010 Share Posted December 15, 2010 I'm just settign up my first array to serve ripped media content. There are 2 type of content: Movies and TV Shows. The file structure for the movies are: Movies - Share -> Star Wars -> MKV + INFO/JPG files The file structure for the TV shows are: TV Shows -> Lost -> Season 01 -> Episode 01.MKV + INFO/JPG files -> Episode 02.MKV + INFO/JPG files -> Season 02 -> Episode 01.MKV + INFO/JPG files -> Episode 02.MKV + INFO/JPG files ->M*A*S*H -> Season 01 -> Episode 01.MKV + INFO/JPG files -> ETC So for the movies I want to keep all the files for each individual movie together. And for the TV shows I want to keep all the files under a spicific season together but let the seasons be on different disks. What should I set the split level to for the Share Movies and the Share TV Shows? Link to comment
dgaschk Posted December 15, 2010 Share Posted December 15, 2010 I assume you mean this (with change in red): TV Shows -> Lost -> Season 01 -> Episode 01.MKV + INFO/JPG files -> Episode 02.MKV + INFO/JPG files -> Season 02 -> Episode 01.MKV + INFO/JPG files -> Episode 02.MKV + INFO/JPG files ->M*A*S*H -> Season 01 -> Episode 01.MKV + INFO/JPG files -> ETC You want Movies = 1. TV shows = 2. Link to comment
lionelhutz Posted December 15, 2010 Share Posted December 15, 2010 ^ what he said. Do yourself a favor and use high-water or most free for the allocation method. The fill-up allocation method causes more grief here than the split level. Peter Link to comment
ombraweb Posted December 15, 2010 Author Share Posted December 15, 2010 I assume you mean this (with change in red): You want Movies = 1. TV shows = 2. Thanks you are right, I fixed my post. Also thanks for the advice I'll set it up and start the long slow transfer process. Link to comment
