December 15, 201015 yr Is it possible and workable to setup unRAID in the same box as my Win7 64bit? I'd like to move to unRAID, but would like to move to a separate box only when my HDDs and current case gets full. (the older threads were, well, old, and talked about VMWare which I don't have)
December 15, 201015 yr no it's not really an option - drives are assigned and formated in a format a windows machine can't read as a running operating system

December 15, 201015 yr Author Ok, thanks for this - looks like I'll have to start looking for components!
December 15, 201015 yr It's possible to run VMWare Server (I believe there is a free version) on the unRAID OS. Then you can run Windows under a virtual machine. But I doubt that's solution you are looking for.
