Is the HDD faulty

Recommended Posts

That's nice and easy! Thanks again.

I have another query. Windows was showing both of my shares as 12.7TB each but now its only showing them as 7.27TB each. When I map the shares on a different computer it still shows as 7.27TB.

I have currently have a parity hdd at 2TB and 7 X 2tb hdds.

Any idea about this one Joe?

No... I generally do not believe anything windows tells me.

To see the space available on unRAID log in on the command line and type

df

It is the "disk-free" command.

If you have unMENU installed, you can see the free space on its main display, or you can go to the "System-Info" page and click on the "File System Space" button.

I am running 4.5.6 and that is how my system behaves. If you create a user share without explicitly including or excluding shares the unRAID exports the shares with the capacity of the entire array. If you limit the disks that the user share spans then the share is exported with that size. Example from my array with all 2T disks.

Share name: Test

Comments:

Allocation method:

Min. free space:

Split level:

Included disk(s): disk1,disk2,disk3

Excluded disk(s):

Use cache disk:

Export (SMB): Export read/write

Export (NFS):

When I map that share with windows explorer, it shows that I have 1.89 TB free of 5.45 TB.
