dealbakerjones
Hey everyone, Running Unraid 6.7.2 on a Poweredge R620, mostly for Plex. It came with some SAS drives, but I'm having trouble finding large (1TB+) SAS HDDs in the 2.5" form factor that I need to expand my memory. According to the documentation, my controller can actually run SAS or SATA, so I'm thinking it would be easier (and cheaper long-term) to use SATA drives instead. Problem: I already uploaded ~1.1TB of media to the server. Is there any way to keep this data while I swap out the hard disks in the array? Or should I just back it all up somewhere (I have a few very large drives on my PC) and copy it back to the server once the array is rebuilt with the new HDDs? Quote Link to comment
JorgeB
You can use use Unraid to replace one disk at a time, or two if you have dual parity, parity disk(s) need to be upgraded first obviously. Quote Link to comment
