When Yadis 2.0 is released I'm going to install that, and check it out as a potential replacement, using it with my new unraid box... which should scale with my Antec 1200 server up to 38TB of data if needed.

December 19, 201015 yr I think a lot of us are using XBMC. It is very flexible and allows us computer junkies to mess with it a little bit.
January 1, 201115 yr I set up Zappiti today. I've got two Dune D1's using it. The Zappiti interface is awesome. It successfully scraped all of my movies and tv shows. The support it has for tv shows is great. Super easy to update too. Just open it and it automatically scans your library and then scrapes the metadata for the new additions. Export to the Dunes and you're golden. The Dunes are great as well. The HD audio support is fantastic - it will bitstream the new codecs or decode and send out over LPCM.
January 1, 201115 yr Yes. I'm using it with an unraid server (the 20 drive beast from Raj's thread) and it works great. No issues at all. The key thing is to organize your movies and tv shows so that they are under the same user share. I set up a user share called Media and then set up a Movies folder and a TV Shows folder underneath it. Zappiti info has to be on the same share as the files in order to work properly so I have mine saved on the media share. My hierarchy is like so: TOWER / \ MEDIA Music / | \ Movies Zappiti TV Shows At first I had just Movies, Music and TV Shows as my user shares and couldn't get Zappiti to work. The Zappiti folder contains the metadata and the links to the underlying movies/tv shows. Note that you can have as many different folders as you want containing movies/tv shows as long as they are under the same share.

I use this same layout, but with "Index" instead of "Zappiti": TOWER / \ MEDIA Music / | \ Movies Zappiti TV Shows I'm currently using version 2.0.4, and although it has a lot of improvements, it needs a little more development before I would consider it stable. You can read the development thread on mpcclub to follow the progress, but I think you've already posted in there.

January 22, 201115 yr Author Strange thing, its not working 100% with yadis. i got this on my disc 2 \Movies \Music \Yadis On my disc1 \Movies Also i got following user shares: Movies Music Yadis The movies section has a split level 1 Movies are devided over disc 1&2 so far.. On my dune main screen i got a shortcut to the yadis folder When i start that, everything works ok, i got covers everywhere However 50% of the movies, when i click the cover to get to the plot page, i get a full blu screen from yadis, with no template (although scraping and exporting worked) when i try to play the movie , he says no video is present

I can try So i just make another share called 'Media' Devide that into - Yadis - Movies - Series make the shortcut to Media And copy everything from the share "movies" to the share \Media\Movies Delete the movies share and run it? But how come then that some movies do work, like it is now?
January 23, 201115 yr Yeah. yannis suggested the file type structure I and the other fellow above use because the Dune can't open multiple shares. You need to have everything in the same user share. An alternative is to place a thumb drive at the Dune and keep the Yadis/Zappiti info on it. You could do this if you have multiple shares with content on them.
January 27, 201115 yr Author I got another problem with the fact the dune can only access 1 user share at a time setup now Tower -> 1. Media - Movies - Yadis - Series 2. Music 3. Foto's 4. Concerts Now, i wanted to change the shortcut's pictures on the front page of the dune You can do this by adding dune_folder.txt and within a link to a icon.aai The only problem is If i do that with a shortcut to the user share Music I don't see the icon on the mainpage of the dune. If i make a shortcut to the fysical place of "Music" So to Disk2\Music, the shortcut icon does work! For now its ok since i only have music on my disk2 But in the very near future that will expand to disk3 too.. so i really need a solution for this very urgent. Placing everything under 1 user share is not an option for me... since i want different split levels for music, movies, concerts and foto's So any ideas how i can solve this?

The short cuts do work on my dune! With music, photos, etc.... But the custom made icons don't ! Since you have to put those 2 files in the share... meaning dune has to open the shares to show the icons... For the shortcut he doesnt need to do it since its stored on the local storage... I didnt want to start another topic about it.. but its fine for me if someone wants to split this topic? starting 2 posts up here..
