Hi all,

 

I'm very interested in running unRaid as a less expensive alternative to buying a Drobo.  In particular, I'd like to run it in a VM on my Mac Mini.  I found a couple of references to a VirtualBox image, but the file seems to have gone missing.  Can someone point me in the right direction?  Thanks!

Been looking at unRAID for a few days now and just so happens I made a few vbox images myself  

 

unRAID 4.6

unRAID 5 beta2

 

Just mount them and boot.

Any idea how i can get eth0 setup properly under virtualbox? I tried all combiniation of network adaptor settings (NAT, Bridged..)but i cant seem to get unRAID to detect eth0, just a local loopback (127.0.0.0)...

Bridged and configure as a Intel Pro 1000.

i actually forgot to restart my host once i had installed VB, which is why i couldnt get the networking setup properly. When i tried again after rebooting it worked a charm using the Intel Pro 1000 (which hadn't previously appeared!)

 

 

So i managed to get my first look at unRAID 5.0b2...more playing around but i am happy i got it setup in a Virtual environment. I can play with config setting without screwing around with my prod server (4.6)
