Gpu gets hot in Idle

Featured Replies

Hello,

I have a unRaid server with following specs:

AsRock x370 Pro 4 MB

R5 2600 Cpu

16gb ram

Asus strix 2060 gpu

Be quiet pure power 11 600w psu

Currently just one 4tb hdd + 2 500gb ssds (just for testing, later i will add more hdds)

unRaid works fine, and i can passthrough my gpu for my windows vm.

BUT:

My idle consumption with no vm no dockers no nothing running is too high..

I have about 65-70w system consumption measured at the wall.

(yes just the Pc, no displays or something hooked up)

I think thats to much.

unRaid running headless, gpu no display connected.

Now the interesting part:

The gpu gets pretty warm in idle, about 55-60 degrees, with the asus strix triple cooler?! (Fan stop active)

That are temps i normally get while playing rocket league at 4k60...

It shouldn't get warm when i dont use it?!

Has anyone some ideas why that is and how to solve it?
