December 18, 201015 yr I did a search but didn't find anything... I'm running 4.5.6 and I've been wondering about the drive status lights on the main page. If the array is completely spun down and I start up the management page I can hear the hard drives start - the heads click and the drives spin up in sequence. I'm right next to the array and it's very apparent. The drives are all Seagate 2TB LP. The disk status icons stay a blinking green though. If I then attempt to open a file on a disk I can hear the disk spin up and the status icon turns solid green. So my question is - what am I hearing when I first open the management page in my browser?
January 17, 201115 yr You really shouldn't hear anything when you check the status page. I just did and I have a bunch of green blinking balls and no drive spin up sounds. If you really feel you have an issue please post up a syslog http://lime-technology.com/forum/index.php?topic=9880.0
