Select Video card Unraid uses

Featured Replies

Hello All, fairly new to Unraid and loving it!   I just built a new server and i'm looking to passthrough my GTX 1080ti to a VM I would like to use for Gaming.  I have a secondary Video card in the system for Unraid to use and free up the 1080..   What I cant figure out is how to force Unraid to bind to the second video device and free up the 1080?

Any help anyone can provide in pointing me to instructions will greatly be appreciated.

thank you.

Which card to boot with is a motherboard BIOS functionality and completely outside of Unraid control.

If your mobo is a Gigabyte then the "Initial Display Output" setting in its BIOS allows you to pick any arbitrary PCIe x16 length slot (or iGPU where applicable) to boot with.

Other brands don't usually have this feature (none that I know of) so it will pick the 1st GPU to boot with, usually in the 1st slot.
