March 23, 20206 yr So whats to do when the stick i dedicated for unraid doesn't get recogised in the USB creator tool? It's a bog standard 32 GB USB 3 stick from "intenso" (the small ones). I formatted it to FAT32 and the Volume is labled UNRAID (30 GB available).... Can i dl an ISO somwhere and use rufus to copy unraid to this usb stick? thx

In any case, it is often better to boot from a USB2 port anyway, and USB3 speed is not needed for this situation. If you don't already have a license .key file for that one you might consider getting something else. Have you tried the manual method? https://wiki.unraid.net/UnRAID_6/Getting_Started#Manual_Method_.28Legacy.29
March 24, 20206 yr Author Is there a way to find out what usb stick works and what doesn't. The one i have here runs fine with ESXi on multiple machines. Why doesn't the creator recognise the stick at all; WIndows does, rufus too ? thx for the reply Edited March 24, 20206 yr by BR0KK
March 24, 20206 yr You could always run the procedure manually Format a stick as FAT32 Make sure that its named UNRAID Download the zip file from Limetech's website Extract the contents of the zip onto the flash drive Right click on make_executable and run it as administrator done
