UNRAID 4.4 to 4.6 Upgrade (released dec 2010)

Featured Replies

Hello, I am a current UnRAID user, and I have to say I like it. It just dawned on me on my last parity sync to check the website and see if there were any updates. I see there is server 4.6. I am currenty on server 4.4 Pro .

What I need to know, is what is the proper way to update my flash to 4.6, I can't rememeber if I replace all files or just some files (bzroot), please any help would be appreciated.

I also noticed there was not a section on server 4.6, sorry for posting in the 4.5 section.

Thank you all :)

Inside the "unRAID Server version 4.6" download file is a text file named "readme.txt". That file contains the complete upgrade instructions you need to follow. I just upgraded from 4.5 following those instructions without any problems. For your current version of unRAID it looks like you need to do the following:

1. Log into your unRAID web interface and make note of hard drive configuration (what unRAID disk number maps to which physical hard drive).

2. Copy the following files from the 4.6 install zip file to your unRAID flash drive overwriting the existing files with the same names: memtest, bzimage and bzroot.

3. Reboot your unRAID server. Then check the unRAID disk number to physical drive mapping and make sure they are the same as before the upgrade.

Hope this helps.
