Moving VM Images from Array to Cache

Featured Replies

I tried setting my VM Share "Use Cache" to Preferred and Only and when I hit the Move script. It doesn't do anything. How do I move these files off my array and put them in my Cache drive?

If the VM option is still showing on the GUI menu, it won't move the files because they are in use. Make sure you disabled the VM service in settings, when you get it right the VMS text will no longer show in the GUI.

I disabled vm and dockers and both tabs no longer there but still wouldn't move

Please don't hijack someone else's thread. Start you own thread and post diagnostics. Most likely cause would be copies of the files already in place, or free space issues.

Only won't move anything. Preferred is the correct setting to get mover to try to move from array to cache. But it may not be able to as noted.

Got it working now. For some reason it didn't like the share name "Virtual Machines". Had to rename it back to "domains" for it to work.

That explanation seems unlikely, but glad you got it sorted.
