Issues after upgrading MB/CPU

Featured Replies

Hello,

I upgraded my unraid server from a b450 and 2600x to a x470d4u/3900x combo today.  In the process the array did not want to start, and then froze anytime I tried to start it.  Went ahead and upgraded from 6.6.7 to 6.8.3, and was unable to make the array start with my existing config copied onto the flash drive that I created.  I then used the flash drive tool to reload the USB again, and manually inputted my array and was able to start it.  I still have no docker/VM tabs, and installing Community applications gives the following error:

plugin: installing: https://raw.githubusercontent.com/Squidly271/community.applications/master/plugins/community.applications.plg

I really am not sure if this is something weird with the asrock motherboard, or a software issue.  Log is attached.

Your flash drive has disconnected and possibly corrupt.

Are you booting from a USB2 port? You may have one of those systems that can't keep a USB3 connection with the flash drive.

Looks like you don't have any, not even a motherboard header.

A forum search shows others who are using that hardware.

What are you using for a flash drive?

There is no option to have this on usb2, as previously mentioned. All c-states are disabled in bios, as well as typical idle current selected. Flash drive is a 16gb cruzer fit. Flash drive is not corrupt when out into another computer, everything seems normal, but it is not accessible while booted it seems.

Maybe just try a different port?

Running a parity check now, scheduled for completion in 3 hours.  Also worth noting is that VM and Docker tabs are visible before starting the array.

Looking like the boot drive is inaccessible to the parity check as well. Stuck at 95.3% with the following:

Warning: file_put_contents(/boot/config/parity-checks.log): failed to open stream: No such file or directory in /usr/local/emhttp/plugins/dynamix/include/DeviceList.php on line 447

Could this be a permissions issue with the files stored on the array?  Where the configuration was lost would that affect the webgui's ability to read the files?

  • Author

I am assuming it was either a permissions issue, or a VM attempting to use the USB controller causing the issue.  When I restored an older version of my flash backup on 6.6.7 everything but the VM is working fine.  That will be a problem for another day.

I still have instability with this MB, so I am returning it and picking up another.  It requires power to be pulled from the system on every reboot for it to post.  The code provided on the debug light is to do with PCIe initialization.  Really seems to not like having a GPU installed.  For anyone else considering this, the MB is certainly not ideal for KVM, despite its other advantages.

According to your diagnostics flash drive had definitely disconnected. Once that happens it won't come back without reboot.
