VDSIK on SMB Share

Featured Replies

Hello,

I am facing a problem that I had already posted in another thread. What does not belong there, so I psote it again here.

I got back and forth after a lot and then thank god the help here in the forum got my SMB share from my Synology NAS going.

The plan was to put a VDISK there and use it with Windows 10 and then integrate it as a second hard drive. But unfortunately I get the following when I send this to my VM.

The update button remains when updating. If I then look at the SMB Share, the VDISK will be put on but it is at 0KB no matter how big I put the VDISK on.

Hope for your help.

Regards Maggi

Terrible idea! Just because you can mount an SMB share for local access doesn't mean you should put a vdisk there for the VM. You need to rethink the arrangement.

Ah ok thanks for the information, but what can I use this share for.

What can I save on it?

Regards Maggi

@Maggi0r An example use is to mount a SMB share and make it usable for a docker. As example I have a share from a Synology NAS mounted and do my daily Unraid share backups with Duplicati on it.
