Parity Check has lots of errors

Featured Replies

In my last 3 parity checks i got a lot of errors. I thought the first parity check had so many errors because of a few unexpected shutdowns, but i cant explain the last two. Has anyone an idee what might cause these errors? Thanks

Start by running memtest.

I did one pass of memtest and had no errors.

One pass might not be enough, 24 hours are recommended, you can also post new diags after two consecutive parity checks, it can give a better idea of the issue.

Ok thanks, i will do a 24h memtest.

Okay, i did a 26h memtest and had 0 errors and the attached diags had 2 consecutive parity checks already. What should i do now? Thank you

Both checks should be done without rebooting.

If possible don't reboot and run another check in the weekend or so, post new diags if there are sync errors.

okay, will do

So i did another parity check, but this time it had 0 errors.

Are you sure there weren't any unclean shutdowns between the checks with errors? It's the most likely explanation, still if you get more in the future please repeat what I asked, two consecutive checks without rebooting and post diags.
