Lou
Hi guys just got my supermicro C2SEE board and was looking for some input for a cpu type. I was about to order the celeron E3300 Cpu should I look at a diffrent chip or is this the way to go. I also Have a Pentium D 940 775 Cpu here but don't think it it is compatible? Advice would be great Thanks in advance. Lou Link to comment
ohlwiler
The E3300 is a fine choice. Another option is the Celeron 430 for a few buck less. When I tested, (using E3200 vs. 430) the 430 used a couple of watts less power at idle. It also slowed my parity checks by about 10%. If you plan to use any add-ons I would go with the E3300.
