WebUI slow when accessing by server name

Featured Replies

Hello,

I recently transitioned my home nas to use unRAID and I am loving it so far. One thing that I have noticed however is that when I access the WebUI it is quite slow to load each page (about 5 to 8 seconds per page). After some playing around, I found that it is only slow when accessing via the server name (in my case http://nas/). When I access the server by IP address, it is much quicker (less than 500ms).

Some things I have checked are:

- The DNS server on my router, nas, and also my local computer is set to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1

- Ran ipconfig /flushdns on my windows computer and restarted the web browser

- I am using Edge Dev (chromium version of edge) which uses the hosts DNS and doesnt cache DNS. To be safe I also tried in Chrome after flushing the DNS cache in the browser

- Pinging the server by name results in less that 1ms response times

Attached are diagnostic logs if you want to look at them. Any help would be much appreciated!

Thanks,

Chris

I've been playing around with this too and noticed the same thing; connecting via hostname is far slower than by IP address. Did you ever manage to fix this?

it is still happening with version 6.12.13.

Did not find a fix...

Anyone?

Try booting in safe mode, if the same try a different flash drive with a stock install, no key needed, that will confirm if the config is the issue, or if it's an external problem.
