CPU Not Throttling

Featured Replies

unRaid 6.8.3

Fix Common Problems is reporting the following warning:

Your CPU is running constantly at 100% and will not throttle down when it's idle (to save heat / power). This is because there is currently no CPU Scaling Driver Installed. Seek assistance on the unRaid forums with this issue.

Whats the proper corrective action for this?

Attached is the sys log.

Install the Tips and Tweaks plugin which should allow you to change the scaling profile. Pick On Demand.

Also check your BIOS and enable things like Intel Speedstep / AMD Cool & Quiet or stuff like that.

Ill double check BIOS, here is what Tips and Tweaks shows about it:

CPU Frequency Scaling

Driver: * no driver *

Governor:

Cool'n'Quiet was set to always disabled inside of BIOS.  Tips and Tweaks now shows:

CPU Frequency Scaling

Driver: ACPI CPU Freq

Governor: On Demand

Fix Common Problems doesn't throw the warning any longer.

Thanks for the suggestions.
