More ram - any steps required?

First off hello! I've been using Unraid for the past year or so but suddenly have a bit more time on my hands at the moment!

 

Running 4gb ram currently for Plex etc, although I've ordered another matching stick as running Boinc as part of the big push!

 

Do I need to do anything specific in software to add more ram, other than physically putting it in and making sure bios is happy?
