Boot error (4.6-rc3 to rc5) (SOLVED)

Featured Replies

I recently update from BASIC 4.6-rc3 to rc5. When I conducted a reboot the server stops at a boot error as soon as it starts reading DMI pool data. The ironic thing is my sons server done the exact thing a couple weeks ago. His system and mine are exactly the same & now with the same problem.

I saved the old BZIMAGE & BZROOT and placed them back onto the USB drive (Lexar 1100) and tried a reboot. No luck!

I tried another USB drive with older unRaid version which stops booting and reads after Syslinex "EBIOS load error".

Any ideas out there?

Update:

I found where limetech put together a package 4.6 (AiO)-rc1 which I decided to use on my old USB flash. To my surprise after using this my server was res-erected.  ???

So what the hell..., I tried it on my newer USB flash and now it work again as well.

Now I am going to try to move it back up to 4.6-rc5 and see what happens.

So far does anyone have any ideas what is going on?

I'll report back on -rc5 transition.

You might want to try out the 4.6 final if for nothing else but to be on an officially supported version.

OK! I am at 4.6 final and all is well. I am glad I stumbled across and tried the 4.6 "AiO"-rc1 which fixed the problem with the flash drives. ;D
