April 20, 20206 yr Hi all, I have a Windows 10 vm humming along and would like to upgrade from the (Unassigned Devices) SSD it's currently sitting to a new NVME drive. Is creating a backup iso from WITHIN the W10 vm and reinstalling the ISO via Unraid's VM creator the best way to handle this? Any advice/best practices?
April 20, 20206 yr I believe you can just mount and share both disks and copy the vdisk from the SSD to the new NVME. Copy your XML into a notepad and save it on the new NVME as well. Create a new Win 10 VM and point it to the vdisk on the NVME and paste in your XML info, accounting for the vdisk location change. Should boot up like nothing changed.
