April 25, 20206 yr Hello I am a professional photographer. My data storage needs are quickly getting out of hand. I have a current RAID 0 setup that is basically full and a handful of hard drives laying around. I am also using backblaze for cloud storage. Doing research I am feeling that a NAS system is the way to go for me. I am a mac user so my system will need to communicate with that. My current work flow is to offload RAW files onto my MacBook Pro's internal hard drive or connected LaCie drive. I either then edit the images or send off to an editor via dropbox for editing. Once files are back I send them to the client. I currently keep both RAW files and finished files. What I am wanting to do is bring the files onto my machine then offload them off to the NAS system and backblaze. I'd really like to be able to edit files directly off the NAS if possible but that is not a priority. I am a total novice when it comes to building a PC. My budget for this would be right around $1000 but can go up if needed. Your help is greatly appreciated.
