[SOLVED] Unexpected shutdowns when running SMART extended self-test

I don't see any unclean shutdown in either syslog. Possibly it was missed in that separate syslog during the earlier period when syslog server was starting since there appears to be some gaps in that one. SMART report does show extend test not completed due to host reset though.

 

Is it actually shutting down? Do you have to manually push the power button to get it started again?

Thanks for your reply.

Yes, it's actually shutting down, couldn't connect the web ui, and found the power status in IPMI.

At last I have to push the power button to get it started...

Since the SMART test is internal to the drive this suggests something hardware related such as insufficient power supply rather than a software issue?

Yes,  that is quite possible. I will try again and check the PSU status.

Settings→Default spin down delay→choose Nerver
