[SOLVED] Screwed up adding parity drives

Featured Replies

Hi guys

So i bought some new drives and did a preclear on all drives, then i proceeded to add them to an array with no parity drives present.

I was suppose to add 2 of the new drives as parity but i didnt, i added them all as data drives.

I then did a new config and added the drives like i was suppose to from the start and now it wants to do a parity sync, is this normal behaviour?

Theres no data on the array, only the cache pool.

Would it want to parity sync even if i did it the right way from the start? As theres no data on the drives in the array.

Parity still needs to be synced, it doesn't matter if there's data or not.

Allright, i didn't think it had to because there were no data on the drives.

Did i screw anything else up by having to do a new config or is everything as before except with the new drives? It asked me to type in the passphrase twice like on the intial setup and that got my heart pumping but the cachedrives were okey it seems :)

That's normal, just type old one twice.
