Hi,

 

I have a disk (Disk 2 in diagnostics file) that is spitting out "Reallocated sector count" and "Reported uncorrected" SMART errors. The disk has only been in use for ~214 days. Has it gone bad this quickly or is there something else at play here?

 

I do have a brand new disk available that I could replace it with, but it was kind of supposed to be used for a different project.

It failed a SMART test, though it was a few power on hours ago, you can run another one and if it's still failing it needs to be replaced.

Just ran a short self-test and it completed successfully:

 

# 2 Short offline Completed without error 00% 5137 -

 

Now running a extended self-test.

 

@johnnie.black What do you think is the reason behind it already starting to die after less than a year of service?

Any device can have issues at anytime, it's not that unusual.
